Motion Assessment
Photos 1-7 were not taken by me, they were taken by Rachel and Amelia who were in my group. Photos 8 and 9 were taken by me.
Slow Shutter Speed Photo 1: This photo is of a flag in motion in mid-air. The slow shutter speed has blurred the motion of the flag spinning in the air. What is really blurred is the silk part of the flag, the pole itself is also blurred, but the silk, which is the pink/yellow part, is really what is affected by the slow shutter speed. The camera was set for the shutter to capture half of a second. The shot was composed with me under the trees tossing the flag and the focus was on the flag in mid-air.
Fast Shutter Speed Photo 7: This photo captures the action of me tossing a flag. The camera was set for the shutter to capture 1/100th of a second. The shot was composed with me in the sunlight tossing the flag with the focus being on the flag in mid-air.
Panning Photo 9: This photo captures rachel and ameila running. They are in motion and in focus while the background is blurred. I achieved this by following them with the camera as they moved and the camera snapped the shot. The camera was set on a slow shutter speed.
